Information About Our Projects

Over the last decade-plus, Friends of the Bridger-Teton National For­est Avalanche Cen­ter has played a cru­cial role in sup­port­ing the Bridger-Teton National For­est Avalanche Cen­ter, accord­ing to Cen­ter Direc­tor Bob Comey. Dur­ing that time, a period when demand for the Center’s ser­vices greatly increased, fund­ing from the non-profit has supported:

• Extend­ing the length of the fore­cast sea­son
• New web-based maps of avalanche events
• Main­tain­ing remote weather sta­tions
• Pub­lic avalanche aware­ness pre­sen­ta­tions.
• Edu­ca­tion for avalanche fore­cast­ers.
• Pur­su­it of fund­ing from grants.
