Each year over 70% of the BTNF Avalanche Center’s funding comes from community donations.
Your financial support helps provide the public with information about avalanche conditions. Our organization promotes fundraising initiatives that enable the professionals in the avalanche center to move forward. Over the last decade, Friends of the Bridger-Teton National Forest Avalanche Center has played a crucial role in supporting the Bridger-Teton National Forest Avalanche Center both financially and strategically. During that time, demand for the Center’s services greatly increased. Funding from the Friends has enabled the center to:
Extend the length of the forecast season earlier and later
Creat a new web-based Google Map display of events.
Maintain and operate remote automated weather stations.
Give public avalanche awareness presentations.
Provide education opportunities for avalanche forecasters.
Pursue and obtain funding from grants and private donations.
